Lyn for macOS

Lyn lets you browse hundreds or thousands of pictures located in folders on your hard drives. It comes in handy for all those times the finder gives up on the huge amount of files. In addition you can do basic editing stuff as well. The app is certainly not interesting for everyone, but it has a permanent place on my system.
